Ogun CP Backs Voter Education Campaign Ahead of 2027 Elections

Ogun State Police Command has pledged support for voter education efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni urging greater civic enlightenment as preparations for the polls gather momentum.

Ojajuni gave the assurance on Thursday, October 30, 2026, when the Founder of IyawoAlhaji Itoku Community and Development Initiative, Comrade Oladunni Patricia Sodipo, led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the State Police Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.

He described the group’s Operation Protect Your PVC campaign as an initiative promoting civic responsibility and voter awareness at a critical time ahead of the elections.

The campaign, themed “From Registration to Protection, PVC Na Your Power”, seeks to educate market women, young people and other community members on the importance of obtaining, protecting and using their Permanent Voters Cards responsibly.

Ojajuni assured the initiative of the Command’s support, noting that voter education and civic enlightenment were important as the country approaches the 2027 general elections.

During the visit, the group presented the Commissioner with a Peace and Service Leadership Award in recognition of his contributions to peace, security and community policing in Ogun State.

Sodipo thanked the Commissioner for receiving the delegation and accepting the award, while reiterating the initiative’s commitment to community development, family empowerment and civic education.

The organisation carries out community-based activities, including market sensitisation, youth empowerment and voter education.
