Hamzat Unveils Seven-Pillar Development Agenda Ahead of 2027 Lagos Governorship Election

Lagos State gubernatorial hopeful, Kadri Obafemi Hamzat has outlined 100 pledges and 87 commitments under a proposed development agenda aimed at improving public services, expanding economic opportunities and strengthening accountability if elected governor in 2027.

The framework, titled “THE PROMISE: Building a State That Lasts,” was unveiled on October 30, 2026, and is structured around seven pillars covering the welfare of residents, infrastructure renewal, economic opportunity, government efficiency, inclusion, security and everyday living standards.

The seven pillars are People First, Renewal, Opportunity, Machinery of Government, Inclusion, Security and Justice, and Everyday Dignity.

Under People First, the agenda prioritises the welfare and interests of Lagos residents, while Renewal focuses on improving existing infrastructure, public services and development initiatives.

Opportunity seeks to expand access to employment, education, entrepreneurship and economic growth. Machinery of Government centres on strengthening public institutions, improving efficiency and enhancing service delivery.

The Inclusion pillar proposes ensuring that communities and social groups benefit from governance, while Security and Justice focuses on public safety and access to justice.

Everyday Dignity, the seventh pillar, is aimed at improving residents’ quality of life through accessible and reliable public services.

The manifesto framework contains seven pillars, 31 chapters, 100 pledges, 87 commitments and 13 aspirations. It is designed to provide a basis for residents to monitor the proposed commitments and assess implementation if Hamzat wins the election.

The agenda is presented as a proposed social contract between the governorship hopeful and Lagos residents, with emphasis on measurable targets, inclusive governance and accountability.
