The Lagos State Police Command has intensified efforts to improve the welfare of its personnel by organising a sensitisation programme on insurance and welfare schemes designed to strengthen the financial security and wellbeing of officers.
The programme, held as part of the Inspector-General of Police’s welfare initiatives, educated officers on the various insurance benefits and support programmes available to members of the Nigeria Police Force.
Delivering the lecture, ACP Ameh Lydia of the Force Insurance Section said the initiative reflects the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, and the Force Insurance Section to enhancing the welfare of police personnel.
She explained the structure and functions of the Force Insurance Section and highlighted key welfare packages available to officers, including the Group Life Assurance Scheme, Nigeria Police Welfare Insurance Scheme, Group Personal Accident Scheme, IGP Family Welfare Insurance Scheme and the newly introduced Voluntary Contributions Scheme, which provides additional opportunities for financial security.
ACP Lydia also informed officers about the ongoing sale of shares in the Nigeria Police Force Insurance Company, encouraging interested personnel to take advantage of the investment opportunity.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the Inspector-General of Police for prioritising officers’ welfare and appreciated the Force Insurance Section for organising the sensitisation programme.
He urged personnel to take full advantage of the available insurance and welfare schemes, noting that improved welfare is critical to boosting morale, enhancing productivity and strengthening effective policing across the state.
