Following his victory at the just-concluded Local Government elections in Lagos, Hon. Aruwe Tunbosun Haruna, Chairman-Elect of Mushin Local Government, has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the people of Mushin, party leaders, and stakeholders for their overwhelming support and commitment throughout the electoral process.
The All Progressive Congress, APC in Mushin scored 92,797 votes, which represents approximately 96% of the total votes cast.
In an official statement released on Sunday, Aruwe first gave thanks to God Almighty, and acknowledged the leadership and vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, alongside his Deputy, Dr. Kadiri Hamzat.
The Chairman-Elect extended deep gratitude to prominent figures in the All Progressives Congress (APC), including Distinguished Senator Ganiu Olanrewaju Solomon (GOS), the Governor’s Advisory Council, and Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye, the outgoing Executive Chairman of Mushin Local Government.
“I am profoundly thankful to the good people of Mushin for their unwavering support before, during, and after the 2025 Chairmanship Election,” Aruwe stated. “Your massive turnout, peaceful conduct, and belief in a better Mushin made this victory possible.”
Aruwe commended the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) for organizing a credible and transparent poll, as well as security agencies for ensuring a peaceful electoral environment.
He also expressed personal appreciation to his wife, Mrs. Olufunke Aruwe, for her steadfast support, and acknowledged the guidance and encouragement received from key political figures.
He further recognized the contribution of top government aides and community influencers, including Hon. Toyin Aremu, Hon. Jamiu Falana, and a host of others.
Special homage was paid to traditional rulers across Mushin, namely Oba Fatai Ayinla Aileru, Oba Sikirullahi Williams Apena, and Oba Tajudeen Odubiyi II, for their fatherly roles.
Hon. Aruwe also extended his appreciation to grassroots party stalwarts, ward leaders, volunteers, and support groups, praising their “relentless commitment to good governance.”
“To all associations, community leaders, and the ever-resilient citizens of Mushin, I salute your courage. Your votes are the foundation of our democracy. I assure you of inclusive and servant-leadership throughout my tenure,” he pledged.
As the people of Mushin celebrate his victory, Aruwe promised to lead with “integrity, diligence, and in the best interest of all.”
“This victory is not mine alone — it is ours,” he concluded.
