The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Headquarters, Lagos, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has decorated 10 newly promoted senior police officers with their new ranks, urging them to uphold professionalism, integrity and dedication in the discharge of their duties.
The decoration ceremony, held at the M.D. Abubakar Hall, Zone 2 Headquarters, followed the recent promotion of senior officers approved by the Police Service Commission (PSC).
The promoted officers include four Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) — Deborah Omoruan Bernard, Ayim Doghudje Mary, Jaiyeoba Idowu Joseph and Lot Garba Lantoh; five Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) — Gafar Ajayi Adeyanju, Ajoke Risikat Akande, Olanrewaju Victor Kalejaiye, Ellah Jeffrey and Chukwu Thomas; and one Superintendent of Police (SP), Okusi Abimbola, a specialist officer.
Addressing the officers, AIG Jimoh described the promotions as well-deserved recognition of their resilience, hard work and professionalism, stressing that the new ranks come with greater responsibility.
He urged the officers to justify the confidence reposed in them by remaining committed to excellence, accountability and diligent service to the nation.
The AIG also expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for his leadership and commitment to personnel welfare, as well as the Police Service Commission for approving the promotions.
According to him, the timely elevation of deserving officers would further motivate personnel of the Nigeria Police Force to remain dedicated to their duties and uphold global best policing standards.
Responding on behalf of the promoted officers, Deputy Commissioner of Police Deborah Omoruan Bernard thanked God for the promotion and expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, the Police Service Commission and the AIG for the confidence reposed in them.
She assured the police leadership that the newly promoted officers would continue to uphold the core values of the Nigeria Police Force by demonstrating greater professionalism, accountability and commitment to their constitutional responsibilities.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Zone 2 management team, senior police officers, families, friends and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the officers on the milestone.
