The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, has officially inaugurated the Abdul Samad Rabiu Nigeria Customs Service Hospital in Bauchi.
This is a 60-bed facility donated by Abdul Samad Rabiu, Chairman of ASR Africa and Founder of BUA Group.
The hospital, delivered through the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative, will provide healthcare for Customs officers, their families, and host communities across Zone D and neighbouring states.
Adeniyi described the facility as a strategic investment in personnel welfare, saying it reflects the Service’s commitment to improving both operational capacity and social infrastructure.
Managing Director of ASR Africa, Dr Ubon Udoh, highlighted the partnership’s sustainability focus, while Aminu Hammayo, Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, said the hospital will strengthen the state’s healthcare system.
The facility, which evolved from a 2008 health post to a 30-bed hospital in 2025, now houses seven clinical departments including Surgery, Pediatrics, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology. It is expected to serve up to 300 patients per month and plans to expand into advanced diagnostics and specialised surgical services.
Earlier, Adeniyi visited the Emir of Bauchi, Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu, who praised the Service for its investment in healthcare infrastructure and community wellbeing.
