Oyo/Osun Customs Rehabilitates Ijokodo Road to Ease Movement in Ibadan

Motorists and residents in Ijokodo, Ibadan, Oyo State, are expected to benefit from improved road access following the rehabilitation of a deteriorated section of Ijokodo Road by the Nigeria Customs Service, Oyo/Osun Area Command.

The intervention was undertaken as part of the Command’s community development and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

The Acting Area Controller, Deputy Comptroller Wale Moses Adewole, led members of the Command’s management team, officers and men in the rehabilitation exercise.

The project was aimed at improving accessibility, easing vehicular movement and providing relief to motorists, residents and other road users who regularly ply the route.

The Command said the initiative was designed to complement government efforts to improve community infrastructure and promote residents’ welfare.

It added that the exercise reflected the Service’s recognition that its responsibilities extended beyond revenue generation and anti-smuggling operations to include meaningful contributions to the development and wellbeing of host communities.

The Oyo/Osun Area Command reaffirmed its commitment to initiatives that strengthen community relations, promote public welfare and support socio-economic development.
