The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, Adegoke M. Fayoade, has decorated 144 newly promoted officers serving within the Zone with their new ranks.
The officers were elevated from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police II (ASP II).
The decoration ceremony, held at the Zone 2 Command Headquarters, witnessed the officers being adorned with the insignia of their new rank amid cheers from colleagues, family members, and well-wishers.
In his address, AIG Fayoade congratulated the officers, describing their promotion as a reward for dedication, hard work, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
He emphasized discipline, respect for human rights, and community-oriented policing, charging the newly promoted officers to regard their elevation as a call to greater responsibility, renewed commitment, and sustained efforts toward safeguarding lives and property.
The AIG also commended the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, and the Police Service Commission for their commitment to motivating officers through timely promotions, noting that such initiatives boost morale and enhance quality police service delivery.
