The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has continued his statewide familiarisation tour with a visit to the Ifo Area Command, reaffirming the Command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing, community partnership and public safety.
The tour featured engagements with traditional rulers, local government officials, security agencies, community leaders and police personnel aimed at strengthening collaboration in crime prevention.
Ojajuni visited the palaces of the Olu of Itori, Oba Abdulfatai Akorede Akamo, and the Olorile of Orile Ifo, Oba Abdul Semiu Adewale Ogunjobi, where both monarchs commended the Command’s efforts in maintaining peace and security within their communities.
The Commissioner thanked the traditional rulers for their support and urged them to continue providing timely intelligence to help prevent crime, noting that the success of Operation Kosaye depends largely on community collaboration.
At the Ifo Area Command headquarters, Ojajuni met with the Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government, Hon. Idris Olalekan Kusimo, representatives of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), community leaders and sister security agencies, including the DSS, NSCDC, FRSC, So-Safe Corps and Forest Guards.
He praised the strong inter-agency collaboration in the area, saying it has helped address security challenges despite the size of the Ifo axis. He reiterated that Ogun State would remain hostile to criminal elements and called for greater community participation in policing.
The Commissioner also introduced stakeholders to the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) and encouraged residents to utilise the Gateway Shield digital platform to report suspicious activities.
Addressing officers of the Area Command, Ojajuni urged them to uphold discipline, professionalism and integrity in the discharge of their duties.
Responding, the Chairman of Ifo Local Government commended the Police Command for improving security in the area and pledged the council’s continued support in maintaining peace and protecting lives and property.
