The Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria, ARCON has inaugurated a Special Recognition Awards Committee to oversee the planning and execution of its forthcoming Special Recognition and Advertising Standards Panel, ASP Awards.
The awards will recognise advertisers, agencies, media organisations and other stakeholders that demonstrate compliance with advertising regulations, while honouring individuals and organisations for outstanding contributions to ethical marketing communications and industry development.
Speaking at the inauguration in Lagos, ARCON Director-General, Dr. Olalekan Fadolapo, urged committee members to uphold transparency, professionalism and fairness, noting that the credibility of the awards depends on an inclusive and merit-based process.
He said the committee would develop the awards framework, establish nomination and assessment procedures, coordinate stakeholder engagement, supervise the selection process and mobilise partnerships to ensure a successful event.
Committee Chairman and Group Executive Director, Omnicom Media Group West & Central Africa, Yinka Adebayo, assured stakeholders of a credible and transparent process that would earn the confidence of the industry.
ARCON said details of the award categories, nomination process, eligibility criteria and ceremony date will be announced later.
