The Zone 2 Command Headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Salihu Khan, describing him as a dedicated officer whose contributions to the Force will be greatly missed.
In a statement issued by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, Olohundare Moshood Jimoh conveyed the condolences of officers and men of the command to the Lagos State Police Command following the officer’s demise.
Until his death, DCP Salihu Khan served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Department of Finance and Administration at the Lagos State Police Command.
AIG Jimoh described the late officer as an exceptionally dutiful, disciplined and highly professional policeman whose commitment to service, integrity and dedication to duty earned him the admiration of colleagues and superiors alike.
According to the AIG, Khan embodied the finest ideals of policing and remained steadfast in the discharge of his responsibilities throughout his distinguished career in the Nigeria Police Force.
He noted that news of the officer’s death came as a rude shock, adding that the Force had lost a dependable administrator, loyal colleague and committed public servant.
“The Nigeria Police Force has lost a dependable administrator, a loyal colleague and a committed public servant whose contributions to the growth and development of the Force will always be remembered,” Jimoh stated.
The AIG joined Olatunji Rilwan Disu, officers and men of the Lagos State Police Command, family members, friends and associates in mourning the deceased officer.
He also prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved family and the entire police community during the difficult period, while asking Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late officer and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
The passing of DCP Khan has been described by colleagues as a significant loss to the Nigeria Police Force, particularly given his role in administration and his years of dedicated service.
