Wema Bank has announced the Top 20 finalists for Hackaholics 6.0 following a two-day pre-pitch held on December 16 and 17, 2025.
The finalists are split between the Hackathon stream and the Ideathon stream, reflecting the competition’s dual focus on building new solutions and refining existing ones.
The Hackathon finalists are Rapid DEV, Secure IT, Neurafeed, Trust Lock Babcock, Pulse Track, IlluminiTrust, Trust Lock FUTA, Fix Fraud AI, KASH Flow, and VOC AI.
The Ideathon finalists include PLOY, Fertitude, VarsityScape, Mama ALERT, StockMed, Chao, All Arbitrate, FarmSlate, Sane AI, and Cycle X.
Speaking on the structure of the competition, Wema Bank Managing Director/CEO Moruf Oseni explained that Hackaholics 6.0 combines both hackathon and ideathon approaches to give participants opportunities to innovate from scratch or improve existing solutions.
“Innovation isn’t just building from scratch. Sometimes, it’s looking at what exists and developing new ways to optimise it,” Oseni said.
The pre-pitch involved 43 contenders presenting their ideas and solutions to secure a spot among the Top 10 in their respective streams. Following rigorous evaluations, the Top 20 finalists emerged and will now compete in the grand finale.
The grand finale is scheduled for December 19, 2025, and will bring together leading players in Africa’s tech and innovation ecosystem. Participants will have the opportunity to showcase their solutions to potential investors and compete for substantial prizes.
The Ideathon prizes include 25 million naira for the winner, 20 million naira for the first runner-up, 15 million naira for the second runner-up, and 5 million naira each for two women-led teams. Hackathon prizes range from 20 million naira for first place to 5 million naira for fourth place.
