The Ports Terminal Multiservices Limited, PTML Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS has recorded a total revenue collection of ₦424.58 billion as of Friday, December 12, 2025, surpassing its 2024 performance by more than ₦62 billion.
The Customs Area Controller of the command, Comptroller Joe Anani, disclosed this at the 2025 end-of-year party organised by the Customs Officers Wives Association (COWA), PTML Chapter, in Lagos.
According to Anani, the revenue figure of ₦424,584,608,992.26 reflects the command’s improved operational efficiency and signals greater prospects with the full implementation of the Unified Customs Management System, UCMS, also known as B’Odogwu.
He noted that the command had already exceeded its 2024 total collection of ₦362.5 billion, despite the year not yet ending, describing 2025 as an eventful year marked by notable achievements under the leadership of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, PhD.
The Area Controller further disclosed that the command is positioning itself to achieve a one-hour cargo clearance time for compliant Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) cargoes in 2026.
On anti-smuggling operations, Comptroller Anani highlighted the command’s successes in intercepting illicit and expired drugs, arms, ammunition and other prohibited items, which he said could endanger the lives of Nigerians if allowed into the country.
He described the seizure of cocaine valued at ₦29.4 billion, which was subsequently handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, as one of the command’s major anti-smuggling breakthroughs in 2025.
Anani attributed the achievements recorded by the command to the strong collaboration it enjoys with stakeholders, particularly sister security and regulatory agencies.
He specifically commended the Nigeria Police, Department of State Services (DSS), Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), among others, for their continued support.
Also speaking at the event, Chairperson of COWA, PTML Chapter, Mrs Caroline Ifeoluwa Anani, described the end-of-year celebration as a reflection of the command’s tradition of unity and togetherness.
She noted that 2025 was a very active year for COWA, stressing that the association played critical roles in supporting the productivity of officers, as “a productive workforce can be made or marred from the home front.”
Mrs Anani listed several initiatives undertaken by the association during the year, including mental health awareness programmes, blood pressure and blood sugar tests, eye screening and treatment, as well as the donation of medicated glasses.
She added that the chapter also organised seminars on home management, food and nutrition, family care products, and distributed souvenirs to husbands of COWA members within the PTML Command.
The highlight of the event was the donation of food items to women and children by the COWA PTML Chairperson in the spirit of the Christmas season.
