SUNU Health Wins ‘Most Customer-Focused Health Insurance Company of the Year’ Award

SUNU Health Nigeria Limited has emerged as the Most Customer-Focused Health Insurance Company of the Year, reaffirming its leadership position in Nigeria’s Health Maintenance Organisation (HMO) sector.

The recognition underscores SUNU Health’s consistent focus on placing customers at the centre of its operations, particularly through improved service delivery, efficient claims management and enhanced access to quality healthcare providers nationwide.

According to the organisers, the award validates the company’s strategic emphasis on enrollee satisfaction, transparent communication and responsive customer engagement across its diverse client base in Nigeria.

The judging panel cited SUNU Health’s innovative use of technology for customer support, alongside its sustained investment in staff training aimed at delivering empathetic and efficient service, as key factors that set the company apart in a highly competitive market.

These efforts, the panel noted, resulted in the company recording the highest customer satisfaction ratings during the assessment period.

Speaking after receiving the award, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SUNU Health, Dr Patrick Korie, described the recognition as a strong validation of the organisation’s core values.

“Winning the Most Customer-Focused Health Insurance Company of the Year award is not just an honour; it affirms the philosophy that drives every member of the SUNU Health team. Healthcare is fundamentally a service industry, and our success is measured by the well-being and satisfaction of our enrollees,” he said.

Dr Korie added that the award would further motivate the company to deepen innovation and set higher standards for customer experience within the Nigerian health insurance sector.

“This recognition strengthens our resolve to continue delivering accessible, high-quality and seamless healthcare solutions as we move into 2026,” he stated.

The awards panel comprised industry professionals and business leaders, including Dr Kofi Albert, CEO of Phillip Omnicom Consulting; Mr Cammil Chineme, former Marketing Manager of Nuchem F & P; Mrs Gloria Sunday, CEO of BrandClock; and Mr Gbenga Awolesi, Chief Operating Officer of Primal Hotel.

The award, organisers said, reflects SUNU Health’s successful integration of digital solutions and human-centred service models, positioning the company as a leading provider of health insurance services focused on personalised care and customer satisfaction.
