The Supervisor for Education, Mushin Local Government, Babatunde Ige, has welcomed pupils, teachers, parents and guardians back to school for the 2026/2027 academic session, urging them to work together to achieve improved learning outcomes.

Ige, in his welcome back to school message, encouraged pupils to return with renewed enthusiasm, discipline, curiosity and determination to learn and excel.

He urged them to make every school day count, respect their teachers, obey school rules and remain focused on their academic goals, stressing that education provides the foundation for a brighter and more prosperous future.

The Supervisor also commended teachers and school administrators for their commitment, sacrifices, professionalism and efforts towards nurturing the children, noting their role in building a knowledgeable, responsible and productive generation.

He appealed to parents and guardians to continue supporting schools and complementing the efforts of teachers by ensuring regular attendance, punctuality, proper supervision of learning activities, good character and the overall well-being of their children.

According to him, education is a shared responsibility, adding that collective commitment from pupils, teachers, parents and the wider education community would produce better outcomes.

Ige reaffirmed the local government administration’s commitment to supporting quality education, improving the learning environment and promoting initiatives that would enhance the academic and personal development of pupils.

He urged the education community to make the new academic session a period of greater learning, improved discipline, innovation, meaningful progress and outstanding academic achievement.
