The Osun Development Association, ODA, a non-partisan and non-sectarian body of prominent Osun indigenes, has announced plans to host the maiden edition of the Osun Development Summit alongside activities marking its 30th anniversary celebration.
The summit, scheduled for December 4, 2025, in Osogbo, the state capital, carries the theme “Developing a Sustainable Blueprint for Sub-National Development through Public-Private Sector Synergy.”
According to the organisers, the event aims to chart new directions for Osun’s progress by exploring avenues for social, economic, and political growth, leveraging the state’s human and natural resources.
Speaking ahead of the event, Dr. Segun Aina, Chairman of the ODA and President of the African Fintech Network, said that the summit’s carefully chosen theme and sub-themes are designed to capture the essence of sustainable development at the sub-national level.
“The celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Osun Development Association will be a deliberate effort to recognise the Association’s contributions to the development of Osun State since its inception thirty years ago,” Dr. Aina noted. “At 30 years, it is evident that the ODA has contributed immensely to the socio-economic and socio-political advancement of our state.”
The summit will feature two plenary sessions focusing on: “Harnessing the Efforts of Community-Based Self-Help Organisations in the Osun Development Agenda,” and “Developing a Holistic Academic, Vocational, and Technical Competence in Osun State – Bridging the Gap.”
Activities lined up for the anniversary celebrations include a foundation-laying ceremony for the proposed ODA House, an Anniversary Golf Kitty, and an Awards and Gala Night to honour notable contributors to the state’s growth.
Since its establishment three decades ago, the ODA has consistently promoted the development of Osun State through strategic advocacy, community initiatives, and partnerships across the public and private sectors.
