Ogun Police Partner Nigeria Cancer Society for Free Screening

The Ogun State Police Command has organised a cancer awareness and free screening programme for its personnel and members of the public in Abeokuta.

The medical outreach, held at the Police Clinic in Eleweran, was conducted in partnership with the Nigeria Cancer Society.

The initiative offered free screening for prostate, cervical, and breast cancers as part of efforts to promote early detection and improve health outcomes.

Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, said the programme underscores the Command’s commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of its officers.

He stressed that early detection remains one of the most effective tools in combating life-threatening diseases and encouraged participants to prioritise regular health checks.

The Command says the initiative forms part of broader efforts to strengthen medical support services within the police force.
