Survivors of gender-based violence across Nigeria are expected to have easier access to reporting channels, referrals and support services following the release of a directory of state coordinators by the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, DSVA.
The directory provides contact details for Gender-Based Violence (GBV) coordinators across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, serving as a resource for survivors, individuals and organisations seeking appropriate response services.
The release follows a two-day National Convening of GBV State Coordinators hosted by Lagos State, with support from the European Union-funded Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Programme (RoLAC II), implemented by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA).
The directory is designed to strengthen coordination and referral pathways among stakeholders involved in preventing and responding to gender-based violence, while making it easier for citizens to identify and contact the appropriate state-level coordinators.
The DSVA urged government institutions, civil society organisations, community groups and other stakeholders to use the directory and circulate it widely to improve access to relevant services.
The agency said it remained committed to strengthening collaboration and improving access to timely and appropriate support for survivors across Nigeria.
