The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, Bode Ojajuni, has visited the residence of late retired broadcaster Kitan Oyesiku and her security guard, where both were found dead, as police intensify investigations into the incident.
During the visit, CP Ojajuni conducted an on-the-spot assessment of the scene and received updates from detectives handling the case. The commissioner reaffirmed the command’s commitment to thoroughly investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths and ensuring that those responsible are identified and prosecuted.
A major breakthrough in the investigation came with the recovery of a Lexus RX300 earlier reported missing from the residence. According to the police, operatives recovered the vehicle during a night operation and have secured it as part of ongoing investigative efforts.
The commissioner assured residents that the command is deploying all available resources to unravel the case and track down the perpetrators.
CP Ojajuni also extended condolences to the family of the deceased, pledging that the command would leave no stone unturned in its pursuit of justice.
The development follows the commencement of a comprehensive investigation by the Ogun State Police Command after the bodies of Oyesiku and her security guard were discovered at her residence. Police had earlier disclosed that preliminary findings revealed signs of forced entry and disturbance within the premises, while the broadcaster’s vehicle was initially found to be missing.
The command said significant progress is being made in the investigation and assured members of the public that further updates would be provided as inquiries continue.
Police authorities have also appealed to residents with useful information to come forward and assist investigators in bringing those responsible for the killings to justice.
