As part of effort to cushion the effects of the current economic realities, the Mass Communication Students Association, MCSA of the University of Lagos, UNILAG has distributed food items to three hundred students drawn from various levels.

President of MCSA, Seyi Soremekun explained that the distribution was an initiative of the past administration and it is only right to continue the tradition

He said: ” It is actually a tradition thing that happens every semester, starting from the last administration and as an administration that is big on continuity, I feel like this is something we can do”

Soremekun noted that the initiative is also to ensure that students feed well even as they prepare for the first semester examinations.

“The last administration did about 80 students, we  doing 300, which is about 3 times that number in an economy such as this, is something we can be proud of.

This is also coming at this time because of the exams. If we had distributed during lecture period, it might not have been appreciated like the way it was during this time.”

On the forth coming examinations, the MCSA president wished students of the department of Mass Communication well, expressing hopes that all will do well.

Blacktalker can report that students of the Mass Communication Department will commence the first semester examinations for the 2023/ 2024 academic session on Monday, 4th of March, 2024.
