Efforts to strengthen criminal investigation and improve security operations in Lagos has received a boost as the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, LSSTF donated 50 bulletproof vests and ballistic helmets to the Force Criminal Investigation Department, FCID Annex, Lagos.
The donation was announced during a courtesy visit by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of FCID Annex, Lagos, AIG Simeon Akpanudom, and members of his management team to the LSSTF.
Receiving the delegation, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, congratulated the AIG on his appointment and commended his dedication and commitment to the Nigeria Police Force.
Ogunsan reaffirmed the Trust Fund’s commitment to supporting the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies operating in Lagos State, noting that the donation would enhance the operational efficiency and investigative capacity of the FCID Annex.
He also assured the command of continued support as part of efforts to strengthen security and keep Lagos safe.
In his remarks, AIG Akpanudom expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the confidence reposed in the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force and thanked the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for appointing him to lead the FCID Annex, Lagos.
He commended the LSSTF for its consistent support to the Nigeria Police Force, particularly the specialised training programmes organised for detectives of the FCID Annex, which he said have significantly improved their investigative skills and professionalism.
The AIG reaffirmed the commitment of the FCID Annex to the Inspector-General of Police’s people-centred policing agenda through sustained collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
The visit concluded with the presentation of a commemorative plaque to Dr. Ogunsan in recognition of the enduring partnership between the LSSTF and the FCID Annex in advancing security and justice delivery in Lagos State.
