LASU VC Gets Appointment to National NgREN/TERAS Integration Board

The Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, LASU, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, has been appointed to the Governing Board of the Nigerian Research and Education Network, NgREN/Tertiary Education Research Applications and Services, TERAS Integration.

The appointment, jointly made by the Federal Ministry of Education and the Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy under the National EdTech Strategy Task Force, recognises her role as Chairman of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of State Universities (CVCSU) and her leadership in driving digital transformation in higher education.

According to the official communication issued to the LASU Vice-Chancellor, her inclusion on the reconstituted Board underscores her outstanding contributions to education management and her advocacy for innovation and strengthened ICT capacity within tertiary institutions.

The inauguration of the Board is scheduled to take place today, Friday, 28 November 2025, in Abuja, during the Mid-term Co-Creation Workshop, a national forum focused on improving educational technology, research infrastructure, and digital readiness across Nigeria’s learning ecosystem.

The new Board is expected to guide the next phase of Nigeria’s connectivity and digital research agenda, particularly in boosting collaboration and enhancing the digital backbone of tertiary institutions across the country.

The management, staff, and students of Lagos State University have congratulated Professor Olatunji-Bello on the appointment, describing it as a reflection of her impactful leadership and commitment to academic excellence.
