The Lagos State Resilience Office, LASRO has reaffirmed its commitment to the effective implementation of the Lagos Resilience Strategy, bringing together Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs to review progress and strengthen the state’s capacity to respond to emerging challenges.
The commitment was reiterated during the 2026 Mid-Year Review Workshop, where representatives of MDAs assessed achievements, identified implementation gaps and explored ways to improve collaboration in building a more resilient Lagos.
The workshop provided a platform for participating agencies to evaluate ongoing resilience initiatives, share experiences and lessons learned, and identify areas requiring greater attention to ensure the successful implementation of the strategy.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Resilience Officer of LASRO, Dr. Folayinka Dania, who was represented by the Deputy Director, Education, Mr. Oluwole Michael, said resilience planning requires continuous evaluation, objective assessment and strategic coordination across sectors.
She noted that regular reviews are essential to ensuring that resilience initiatives remain effective in preparing the state to withstand, respond to and recover from shocks and stresses.
The LASRO boss stressed that achieving meaningful resilience outcomes depends on sustained commitment, stronger inter-agency coordination and collective responsibility across the public service.
In the highlight of the event, technical officers also presented an overview of the Lagos Resilience Strategy, highlighting its role in strengthening adaptive, responsive and sustainable institutions capable of addressing present and future challenges.
Representatives of participating MDAs, in turn, presented reports on resilience-related projects and achievements within their respective agencies, using the session to exchange practical experiences and identify areas where greater collaboration and intervention are needed.
