The Lagos State Government has announced that the 2025 Universal Basic Education (UBE) Placement Test for Primary Six pupils will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. prompt.
The test will be conducted using the Continuous Assessment Scores (CAS) system.
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mrs. Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite said the placement test is targeted at Primary Six pupils in public and approved private schools across the state. It serves as a critical step in their transition to Government Junior Secondary Schools.
Mrs. Dokunmu-Adegbite emphasized the need for active participation and cooperation from all stakeholders, noting that school representatives are expected to accompany their pupils to the designated examination centres statewide.
She reiterated the state’s commitment to the “Leave No Child Behind” policy and stated that the use of CAS and Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets ensures a fair and objective assessment of pupils’ academic abilities.
She urged all candidates to take the test seriously, prepare thoroughly, and approach it with confidence, stressing its importance in shaping their academic journey.
The Ministry also expressed appreciation to parents, guardians, and school administrators for their consistent support in providing a smooth and effective learning environment for all pupils.
