The Lagos State Police Command has recorded another major breakthrough in its fight against crime with the arrest of four suspected members of a car theft syndicate and the recovery of a stolen Toyota Hiace bus.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, operatives from the Tactical Team in Isheri acted swiftly on a report filed on August 1, 2025, involving the theft of the grey Toyota Hiace bus.
He noted detectives tracked the case to Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where the principal suspect, 31-year-old Salisu Ibrahim Abdullahi, was apprehended.
Further investigations led the team to Kano State, where three alleged accomplices were also arrested. They include 45-year-old mechanic, Yenusa Salihu; 49-year-old car dealer, Baba Jero Idris; and 41-year-old businessman, Abdullahi Aliyu. The stolen vehicle was also recovered during the operation.
Hundeyin, confirmed that investigations are ongoing and the suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion.
Commending the operatives, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, lauded the swift and intelligence-led approach deployed in the operation.
He assured residents and visitors in Lagos that the Command will continue to employ cutting-edge strategies to curb vehicle theft and other crimes in the state.
