The Lagos State Police Command has provided an update on the investigation into the multiple murders of Sheriff Salami Ishola and Prince Ademola Akinloye, announcing the arrest of two principal suspects and declaring several others wanted.
The principal suspects, Safiu Fatai, aka Fabo (40), and Yusuf Ismaila, aka Bariga, are currently in police custody.
Both have confessed to their involvement in the killings and admitted that the murders were carried out on the orders of Alhaji Ahmed Tajudeen Akanbi (38), CEO/MD of HAMTAJAK & HALROMALK, who remains at large.
Sheriff Salami Ishola (37) was killed on April 18, 2023, at Moba Town, Eti Osa LGA. According to the police, the suspects ambushed him around 3:00 pm, dragging him into an isolated building where he was shot multiple times and killed on the spot.
Also,Prince Ademola Akinloye (38), son of Oba Adetunji Akinloye, the OJOMU of Ajiran land, was murdered on August 26, 2024, along Chevron Road, Ajiran, Eti Osa LGA. The same gang, using similar methods, shot him multiple times around 11:00 am.
Investigation revealed that Ahmed Tajudeen Akanbi allegedly paid the principal suspects two million naira following the first murder and promised additional incentives. Additional suspects, including Soji Mascot, Kenny, and Bode, remain at large.
CP Olohundare Jimoh, Commissioner of Police, explained that although the murders occurred before his tenure, the cases were reopened when new evidence emerged. Safiu Fatai was arrested on January 24, 2026, and Yusuf Ismaila on February 6, 2026, following a thorough investigation.
