The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, CP Tijani Fatai, has charged senior officers of the command to remain proactive, vigilant and committed to effective policing as part of efforts to strengthen security across the state.
Fatai gave the charge during a strategic security meeting with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Commanders of the Police Mobile Force (PMF) and Tactical Commanders, convened to review the security situation and reinforce operational readiness.
At the meeting, the police commissioner emphasised the importance of sustained intelligence gathering, effective supervision of personnel and prompt responses to security threats within their respective areas of responsibility.
He urged the officers to uphold the highest standards of professionalism in the discharge of their duties and ensure that the same standards are reflected by officers under their command.
In a major boost to the command’s operational capacity, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) donated 200 bulletproof helmets and 200 bulletproof vests to support frontline policing and other security operations across the state.
The protective equipment was formally presented to the command by the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, who reiterated the organisation’s commitment to supporting security agencies with resources needed to effectively protect lives and property.
Ogunsan said the donation formed part of ongoing efforts by the trust fund to strengthen security infrastructure and enhance the operational readiness of security personnel in Lagos State.
Receiving the equipment, CP Fatai expressed appreciation to the LSSTF and its leadership for their continued partnership and support toward improving security in the state.
He noted that the bulletproof vests and helmets would not only enhance operational effectiveness but also boost the morale and confidence of officers deployed on critical assignments.
The police commissioner also commended residents of Lagos State for their continued cooperation and support for law enforcement agencies, describing their contributions as vital to maintaining peace and security.
According to him, information provided by members of the public has played a significant role in many of the command’s operational successes.

Fatai appealed for greater collaboration between residents and the police as the command intensifies efforts to combat criminal activities and ensure the safety of all residents and visitors in the state.
He further urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities through the command’s emergency lines to support ongoing security operations.
The strategic meeting and donation underscore ongoing efforts by the Lagos State Police Command and the Lagos State Security Trust Fund to strengthen security architecture and improve the safety of residents across the state.
