FirstBank has announced plans to host the latest edition of its SMEConnect Webinar, a capacity-building platform designed to equip small and medium-sized enterprises, SMEs with practical knowledge and resources to grow their businesses.
The virtual event, scheduled for June 25, 2026, is themed “Funding Your Growth: How SMEs Can Access Finance and Scale Faster” and will focus on helping entrepreneurs secure funding, leverage digital solutions, and overcome operational challenges.
The webinar will feature a keynote address by former Minister of Finance and Convener of DashMe Foundation and NIDACITY, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun. A panel discussion will also feature Executive Director, MSME, Bank of Industry, Oluwatoyin Edu; Head, Credit Analysis and Processing, FirstBank, Afoluwake Dahunsi; and Head, SME Banking, FirstBank, Helen Willie.
Speaking ahead of the event, FirstBank’s Group Executive, e-Business and Retail Products, Chuma Ezirim, said access to capital remains one of the biggest challenges facing SMEs.
“SMEConnect is about turning ambition into access. We want to demystify funding and provide entrepreneurs with practical steps to become bankable while connecting them with the right tools and partners to scale their businesses,” he said.
According to the bank, the quarterly SMEConnect webinar forms part of its commitment to supporting entrepreneurship, driving economic growth, and empowering business owners with the knowledge required to thrive in an increasingly competitive business environment.
