FirstBank of Nigeria is set to host the fifth edition of its Agric and Export Expo on September 16 and 17, with stakeholders expected to examine ways of strengthening Nigeria’s agricultural value chain and expanding the country’s non-oil exports.
The two-day expo, themed “From Farm to Global Markets: Building Nigeria’s Export Value Chain,” will bring together policymakers, regulators, agribusiness operators, exporters, investors and development partners to discuss opportunities and challenges affecting agricultural production and exports.
The event is expected to focus on areas including export financing, value addition, emerging international markets, technology and policy measures needed to improve the competitiveness of Nigerian agricultural products.
The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, is expected to deliver the keynote address, while the Governor of Niger State, Alhaji Mohammed Umar Bago, will deliver a goodwill message.
Other industry leaders scheduled to participate include Olasunkanmi Owoyemi, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Sunbeth Global Concepts Limited; Taiwo Ayoade, Deputy Managing Director of Agro Traders Limited and Plantation Industries Limited; and Sunil Kumar Chauhan, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Fertiliser Limited.
Also expected at the expo are Ayodele Abioye, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of BUA Foods Plc; Dr Agboola Zubayr Belgore, Managing Director of Amo Byng Nigeria Limited; and Amit Bose, Chief Financial Officer of Valency Agro Nigeria.
The expo comes amid growing efforts to expand Nigeria’s sources of foreign exchange and reduce dependence on crude oil by developing agriculture and other non-oil sectors.
Now in its fifth year, the FirstBank Agric and Export Expo has provided a platform for stakeholders in the agricultural and export sectors to discuss investment, financing, innovation and market access.
The 2026 edition is expected to examine practical approaches to improving the movement of agricultural products from farms through processing and value addition to international markets.
Farmers, exporters, agribusiness operators, investors and entrepreneurs are expected to participate in the event.
Registration for the expo is currently open to interested participants.
