Finance Minister Wale Edun to Deliver Keynote at FiBOP 2025 National Conference

Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, is set to deliver the keynote address at the 2025 Finance and Business Online Publishers, FiBOP National Annual Conference.

The two-day conference, with the theme; “Achieving a $1 Trillion Economy: Leveraging Technology Innovations, Tax Reforms, and Opportunities in Renewable Energy, Agriculture, and Financial Services,” will take place from October 18 to 19, 2025, at Orchid Hotels, Lekki, Lagos.

It is expected to bring together technocrats, industry leaders, academics, policymakers, and captains of industry for robust conversations on charting a path toward accelerated economic growth and development.

Organizers say the conference is aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and will focus on fostering mutual accountability and investment strategies essential for national prosperity.

Discussions will highlight Nigeria’s urgent need to diversify away from dependence on oil, while prioritizing innovation, renewable energy, agriculture, insurance, and the financial services sector.

Already, several key institutions have thrown their weight behind the initiative. Among them are the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), emPLE Insurance Limited, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Polaris Bank, Zenith Bank, Fidelity Bank, Universal Insurance, and Nestlé Nigeria Plc. More organizations are expected to come on board in the coming weeks, underscoring the wide support for FiBOP’s vision of achieving a $1 trillion economy by 2030.

Edun, who has repeatedly emphasized the importance of domestic savings and financial stability, is expected to reinforce his stance that “a trusted and stable financial system, anchored by strong institutions, is essential to lifting millions out of poverty and driving Nigeria’s transition to a $1 trillion economy.”

FiBOP President, Mr. Charles Onwuatogwu, described the forthcoming conference as a rallying point for both government and the private sector to push forward the federal government’s economic agenda.

He urged more companies to partner with the association in driving wealth creation and expanding the dividends of democracy, assuring that partners and sponsors would enjoy extensive media visibility through interviews, publicity promotions, and brand showcases.

The FiBOP Conference has become a major fixture on Nigeria’s economic calendar, offering a platform for seasoned voices to engage with pressing national issues.

Registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission, FiBOP is made up of experienced online publishers and editors committed to balanced economic reporting and the promotion of inclusive growth, unity, and prosperity across Nigeria and Africa.

With over 500 participants expected, the 2025 edition promises to provide a critical platform for shaping policies and strategies that will determine Nigeria’s place in the global economy.
