Fidelity Bank, Foremost Radiology Take Breast Cancer Awareness to Oyingbo Market

Fidelity Bank Plc and Foremost Radiology are partnering to promote early breast cancer detection through a public awareness campaign, a medical webinar and a planned screening outreach at Oyingbo Market, Lagos.

The initiative, delivered through the bank’s women-focused HerFidelity programme, aims to encourage women to recognise unusual breast changes and seek prompt professional medical evaluation.

As part of the campaign, a webinar themed “Beyond the Lump: The Role of Awareness and Imaging in Early Breast Cancer Detection” is scheduled for Friday, October 16, 2026, at 10 a.m. West African Time.

The session will feature Dr Alabi, a Consultant Radiation and Clinical Oncologist, who is expected to discuss breast cancer warning signs, medical imaging and the importance of timely evaluation. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions.

The campaign will extend to Oyingbo Market on October 25, where organisers plan to conduct a breast health screening and awareness outreach targeting women in the commercial community.

The organisers are promoting the message, “Know, Check, Act,” to encourage women to pay attention to changes in their breasts and seek qualified medical advice rather than ignore possible warning signs.

Possible symptoms include a lump or thickening, changes in breast size or shape, skin or nipple changes, and unusual nipple discharge. Such changes do not necessarily indicate cancer, but medical professionals advise that they should be assessed promptly. Breast cancer can also occur without pain.

Through HerFidelity, Fidelity Bank provides women-focused support spanning access to finance, business education, entrepreneurship development and health and wellness programmes.

The collaboration with Foremost Radiology forms part of the programme’s health and wellness efforts, linking women’s wellbeing with the broader goal of economic empowerment.
