The Managing Director/CEO of Executive Hotel and Suites, Dr. Ajoke Ogunsan, has urged Nigerian women to embrace audacity as a catalyst for excellence, success, and personal growth.
Ogunsan made the call while delivering the keynote address at the 5th edition of the Multi-Woman Conference held in Lagos on Saturday, April 18, 2026.
Speaking on the theme “Unleash: Unlocking New Levels of Excellence, Audacity, Success and Healing,” she described audacity as a vital virtue for progress, clarifying that it should not be mistaken for arrogance.
“True audacity is courage guided by wisdom. It is the inner voice that says, ‘Yes, this is difficult but I will still try,’” she said, addressing an audience of professionals, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.
The conference featured a lineup of speakers including Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode, psychiatrist Adeola Adeyemi, academic Tosin Ayanleke, producer Victoria Nduka, fintech expert Praise Agbonighale, and Mercy Obasi-Jude. The session was moderated by communication coach Jadesola Adewonu.
Ogunsan noted that many individuals carry untapped potential constrained by fear, past failures, and societal expectations, urging participants to unlock their inner greatness.
Highlighting the role of women as “architects of society,” she stressed that leadership, excellence, and vision are not gender-bound.
She cited notable Nigerian women such as Oluremi Tinubu, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Mo Abudu, Nike Davies-Okundaye, and Ola Orekunrin Brown as examples of audacity driving transformation and global impact.
She also paid tribute to the late Dora Akunyili, praising her courage in combating counterfeit drugs despite significant risks.
Drawing from her personal journey as an entrepreneur and gospel music minister, Ogunsan shared how audacity shaped her initiatives, including the creation of a Christian gospel talent platform aimed at discovering and nurturing emerging artists.
In her opening remarks, the convener of the conference, Mary Ayuba, called for unity among women to drive collective growth and national development.
A highlight of the event was the announcement of the latest edition of the Multi-Woman Magazine, which was distributed to attendees as part of efforts to promote women supporting women.
Ogunsan concluded with a call to action, urging women to embrace boldness in their ambitions and pursue excellence without hesitation.
“The future is not waiting for permission. It is waiting for people bold enough to unleash their greatness,” she said.
