Big 5 Construct Nigeria Returns to Lagos, Targets Growth in $54bn Construction Market

Big 5 Construct Nigeria is set to return to Lagos from September 22 to 24, bringing more than 165 exhibitors from over 20 countries together as Nigeria’s construction industry continues to expand.

The sixth edition of the construction industry event will hold at Landmark Centre and is expected to attract more than 10,000 contractors, developers, architects, engineers and other built-environment professionals for business networking, product demonstrations and knowledge exchange.

Nigeria’s construction industry generated an estimated $54 billion in construction output in 2025 and is projected to grow by about 3.1 per cent in 2026, with average annual growth of approximately 3.2 per cent expected between 2027 and 2030, according to ResearchAndMarkets.

The growth is being driven by continued investment in infrastructure, housing, industrial and manufacturing development, alongside government efforts to strengthen domestic production of construction materials.

Under the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, plans to establish Building Materials Manufacturing Hubs across the country are expected to support local production and more resilient supply chains.

Against this backdrop, Big 5 Construct Nigeria will provide a platform for local buyers and project stakeholders to connect with international manufacturers and suppliers of construction materials, equipment and technologies.

Josine Heijmans, Senior Vice President at dmg events, said the sector’s growth was creating demand for new products, expertise and capabilities across the construction value chain.

“Big 5 Construct Nigeria provides an opportunity to connect the companies and authorities driving this growth with an international network of suppliers and industry leaders,” Heijmans said, adding that the platform would support knowledge exchange and business relationships aligned with Nigeria’s National Development Plan.

Exhibitors from countries including Germany, India, Spain, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates will showcase solutions covering building interiors and finishes, concrete and cement, construction tools and personal protective equipment, digital construction technologies, mechanical, electrical and plumbing services, heavy construction equipment, metal, steel and aluminium systems, offsite and modular construction, urban design and landscaping, and windows, doors and façades.

Among the participating brands are Saint-Gobain, Sika, Asian Paints, Bosch, Uniflo–Al Shihhi Industry, SPG Nigeria and Abumet, alongside other local, regional and international manufacturers.

The event will also feature Big 5 Talks, a professional development programme offering more than 25 CPD-certified sessions covering architecture, design, cost and commercial management, project management, sustainable building materials and façades.

The sessions will address practical challenges affecting project delivery, digital adoption, cost management, fit-out and finishes, risk management and sustainable construction.

Bldr Adetunji Adeniran, Registrar and Secretary to Council of the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria, is expected to discuss project delivery strategies for high-risk environments, while Gabriel Oyekunle, Creative Director at CraftsPhile Studios, will examine practical approaches to adopting Building Information Modelling in environments where BIM is not yet widely established.

Engr. Thabang Chitja, Customer Success Manager at RIB Software, will focus on the use of digital project controls and real-time data to improve cost visibility, risk management and project performance.

Other speakers, including Abimbola Onagbade, Head of CDK Integrated Industries, and Arc. Emmanuel Falude, Director of Education and Certification at the Green Building Council of Nigeria, will address the balance between cost, quality and delivery timelines, as well as the commercial case for green buildings and sustainable investment.

The organisers said the event is free for trade and industry professionals aged 18 and above, with registration currently open.
