AIG Moshood Jimoh Urges IHS to Maintain Close Communication with Police

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has urged IHS Nigeria to maintain close communication with the Police and promptly report suspicious activities, threats to its infrastructure and other security concerns requiring police intervention.

AIG Moshood Jimoh gave the charge when he received a delegation from IHS Nigeria on a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening security collaboration and deepening the longstanding relationship between the Nigeria Police Force and the telecommunications infrastructure company.

He noted that timely reporting and effective information sharing were essential to preventing crime, protecting critical assets and responding appropriately to emerging security threats.

The AIG assured IHS Nigeria of the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to providing a safe and secure environment where legitimate businesses and investments can thrive.

The visit was particularly significant for the head of the delegation, AIG Ahmed Iliyasu, psc(+), (Rtd), who served as the 26th Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Headquarters from 2019 to 2021.

Speaking during the visit, Iliyasu expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded him and members of the delegation. He described IHS as a global telecommunications infrastructure company with more than 16,000 towers across Nigeria.

He said the organisation places considerable emphasis on the safety and security of its personnel, infrastructure and the wider community, while calling for continued strengthening of the partnership between the Nigeria Police Force and IHS, particularly in security and information sharing.

The engagement also provided an opportunity for members of the Zone 2 Headquarters management team and the IHS delegation to discuss areas of mutual concern, including crime prevention, information sharing, rapid response to security threats and measures to improve the safety of residents and critical infrastructure across Lagos and Ogun States.

Zone 2 Headquarters reaffirmed its commitment to building purposeful partnerships with stakeholders and leveraging such collaborations to strengthen security, public safety and confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.
