AIG Jimoh Reaffirms Commitment to Professional Policing as IEDPU Delegation Visits Zone 2

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Headquarters, Lagos, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has reaffirmed his commitment to professional policing, rule of law and respect for fundamental human rights in the discharge of his constitutional responsibilities.

AIG Jimoh gave the assurance when he received the National President of the Ilorin Emirates Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration, ACG A. A. AbdulMalik (Rtd.), and other members of the Union on a courtesy visit to the Zonal Headquarters.

The visit provided an opportunity for the delegation to commend AIG Jimoh, a prominent son of Ilorin, for his distinguished career, professionalism and contributions to national service.

Speaking during the visit, ACG AbdulMalik thanked Almighty Allah for His continued grace upon the life and career of AIG Jimoh, while commending his contributions to the development of Ilorin and his leadership in maintaining relative peace and security across Lagos and Ogun States.

He described AIG Jimoh as a disciplined, principled and dutiful officer whose professional conduct reflects good character and responsible citizenship.

ACG AbdulMalik noted that these qualities were consistent with the values associated with Barakat Community Secondary School, Ilorin, Kwara State, established by IEDPU, where AIG Jimoh received his secondary education.

He said the school was committed not only to academic excellence but also to instilling good virtues, sound societal values, moral discipline and exemplary character in its students.

The IEDPU National President expressed confidence in AIG Jimoh’s capacity to discharge his responsibilities with diligence and integrity, adding that he would continue to uphold the rule of law and act in the interest of justice.

Responding, AIG Jimoh appreciated the National President and members of the IEDPU delegation for the visit and goodwill extended to him.

The AIG acknowledged the Union’s longstanding interest in his career and expressed gratitude for its continued support and encouragement, noting that the recognition was both an honour and a reminder of the responsibility that comes with public service.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the professional discharge of his duties, guided by the rule of law, respect for fundamental human rights, justice and fairness.

AIG Jimoh further assured that justice would be pursued without fear or favour, irrespective of an individual’s social status, position or class.
