Wema Bank has been named Nigeria’s Best Digital Bank for Consumers 2026 by Euromoney, reaffirming its leadership in digital innovation, customer experience and financial inclusion.
The award recognises the bank’s digital transformation, driven by ALAT, Africa’s first fully digital bank, and its commitment to delivering simpler, smarter and more accessible banking services.
Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Moruf Oseni, said the recognition validates the bank’s sustained investments in technology and customer-focused innovation.

The bank highlighted recent upgrades to ALAT, including voice banking, tap-to-pay, personalised financial services, integrated investment opportunities, AI-powered fraud monitoring, faster digital onboarding and an expanded agency banking network.
Euromoney also recognised Wema Bank’s use of data-driven personalisation to provide tailored savings, investment and credit solutions based on customers’ financial needs.
