Unity Bank Plc has unveiled an upgraded version of its mobile banking platform, Unifi, as the Nigerian lender intensifies efforts to enhance customer experience and strengthen its digital banking proposition.
The latest release, Unifi version 2.3, comes with improved security protocols, expanded quick-action features, enhanced bill payment options, and an upgraded Nigeria Quick Response (NQR) function to enable faster and more secure QR-based transactions, the bank said on Tuesday.
Unity Bank said the upgrade reflects its sustained investment in digital and security infrastructure to protect customer data and support safe, real-time transactions across multiple channels.
Speaking on the development, Adenike Abimbola, Divisional Head, Retail, SME, Digital Banking and Fintech Partnerships at Unity Bank, said the enhancements were driven by continuous customer feedback and evolving usage patterns.
“Digital banking has become integral to everyday life, with customers demanding speed, reliability, convenience and security,” Abimbola said. “The latest Unifi upgrade responds directly to these expectations by strengthening security, improving functionality and simplifying key transaction journeys.”
She added that the bank would continue to improve its digital platforms in line with customer needs and industry trends, noting that Unifi remains central to Unity Bank’s strategy for delivering inclusive and intuitive financial solutions.
Launched as part of Unity Bank’s push to expand its retail footprint, particularly among young and digitally savvy customers, Unifi has grown into a key driver of customer acquisition and engagement, supporting the bank’s broader digital transformation agenda.
The Unifi mobile app is available on Android and iOS, offering services such as fund transfers, bill payments, airtime purchases and QR-enabled transactions.
