The Lagos State Government has assured security stakeholders of its determination to partner with them in ensuring that the state remains safer and secure for peaceful co-existence.

Secretary to the State Government, Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin gave the assurance during a maiden meeting with a delegation of the Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC of the Lagos Command led by its chairman, Kehinde Showemimo at the Cabinet Office in Alausa, Ikeja.

Salu-Hundeyin, who expressed the belief that collaboration can further strengthen the security architecture of the state and foster the safety of Lagosians, urged the PCRC team to engage the youths in carrying out its mandate of interfacing between the police and the citizens.

“Youths are known for their strength and energetic presence anywhere they are and bringing them on board will further make the work of PCRC, the State Government and other stakeholders easier. They are also technologically savvy and can bring their knowledge to bear in the area of infrastructural security.”

In his remarks, Lagos State Chairman of PCRC, Kehinde Showemimo explained that the delegation is in the Cabinet Office to see how the PRCP can support/consolidate the state government’s efforts in security.

Showemimo, who commended the state government efforts through the Lagos State Security Trust Fund towards funding security agencies, pledged to act on the recommendations of the state government in engaging the youth among others for a safer Lagos.
