The Synagogue Church Of All Nations, SCOAN, hosted its first-ever “Women of Grace” (WOG) convention at its international headquarters in the Egbe-Ikotun area of Lagos State.
The event, which celebrated the virtues of womanhood in Christ, drew a large crowd of women from within Nigeria and abroad.
The vibrant and colorful event featured a variety of activities, including traditional dances, career talks, drama sketches, Bible quizzes, and motivational speeches on topics like “Building a Godly Home.” The theme of the event was encapsulated in a special song by the WOG choir titled “No Jesus, No Life.”
Prominent speakers included successful Christian entrepreneurs such as Mrs. Karen Edwards, Evelyn Adedipe, Mary Paul, Joy Oputeh, and Oyeronke Adebomi. They inspired the audience with their testimonies and messages of hope, holding the crowd in rapt attention.
The leader of SCOAN, Pastor Evelyn Joshua, expressed her joy and spiritual enthusiasm, describing the Women of Grace initiative as a long-held dream that had finally come to fruition. She emphasized the importance of true womanhood as God’s will for humanity, lamenting how this ideal has been distorted in modern times. She stated, “The foundation of SCOAN’s Women of Grace is rooted in God’s directive to raise women of honor, integrity, and godly character.”
Pastor Evelyn also paid tribute to her late husband, Prophet T.B. Joshua, acknowledging his role in laying the foundation of the church upon which the Women of Grace now stand. She urged the women to embody grace, strength, dignity, and honor, as outlined in Proverbs 31:25 and thanked them for their commitment to making God’s word the standard for their lives.
A coordinator for the group, Mrs. Morenike Jegede, described Women of Grace as essential to fulfilling God’s purpose for women. She highlighted the group’s regular Friday meetings for Bible study and prayer, both in the church and at the Prayer Mountain, where members’ challenges are addressed.
The group, organized into three bands—Deborah, Esther, and Queen of Sheba—along with 15 sub-coordinators, has evolved into a well-structured institution aimed at rejuvenating and nurturing the ideals of Godly womanhood.
The convention’s highlights included the presentation of the “Woman of Virtues and Resilience” award to Pastor Evelyn Joshua and the empowerment of nine less-privileged women. One participant, Mrs. Olaitan Famakinwa, praised the event as “fantastic,” noting that it had inspired hope and opened the eyes of women to a brighter future.
