Promasidor says it has reduced paper consumption by 30 per cent year-to-date, alongside savings from improved water and energy use, as the company introduces a mobile application to help employees identify and report sustainability concerns.
The Eco Alert App was launched during the company’s Sustainability Day 2026 event to give employees a dedicated channel to flag sustainability-related issues and support their timely resolution.
Chief Technical Officer, Brighton Ochieng, disclosed the reduction in paper use, saying improvements in water and energy consumption had also strengthened resource efficiency and generated significant savings for the company this year.
The company did not disclose the monetary value of the savings.
The app is intended to make sustainability a shared responsibility by enabling employees to report problems and identify areas where resource use and workplace practices could be improved.
Packaging and Sustainability Manager, Solomon Makanjuola, highlighted the growing importance of sustainability to the business and encouraged employees to make more conscious choices in their daily activities.
The event also recognised the Heat Factory for adopting a paperless process, while a sustainability quiz was organised to test employees’ knowledge and reinforce responsible practices.
Participants pledged to extend sustainable habits beyond the workplace to their homes and communities.
The initiative combines employee reporting with resource-efficiency measures as Promasidor seeks to strengthen participation in its sustainability programme and reduce waste across its operations.
