Police Intensify Rescue Operations After Hostel Abduction in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command says it has intensified rescue operations following the abduction of occupants of a private hostel in the Ipara area of the state.

The incident occurred on the night of Wednesday, July 29, prompting a coordinated security response involving the police and other security agencies.

In a statement, the command said tactical teams and intelligence assets were immediately deployed to the area after receiving a distress report, adding that efforts were ongoing to rescue the victims safely and apprehend those responsible for the attack.

“The Ogun State Police Command is aware of the abduction incident at a private hostel in the Ipara area on the night of Wednesday, July 29, 2026.

“Immediately the distress report was received, the Police and other security agencies activated a coordinated operational response, deploying tactical teams and intelligence assets to the area. Rescue operations are ongoing to ensure the safe rescue of the victims and the apprehension of those responsible,” the statement said.

The command appealed to parents, students and residents to remain calm and disregard misinformation that could undermine the ongoing security operations.
