Fidelity Bank Plc has reaffirmed its leadership in diaspora banking with the successful hosting of the Fidelity Diaspora Summit 2026.
The Summit, a global virtual engagement, is aimed at helping Nigerians abroad navigate evolving policies and identify credible investment opportunities in Nigeria.
The summit, held on Saturday, 14 March 2026, convened Nigerians across key diaspora markets including the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, and the United Arab Emirates.
Speaking at the event, Fidelity Bank’s Managing Director and CEO, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, OON, described the diaspora as “Nigeria’s thirty-seventh state” due to their scale and impact, emphasizing their role as ambassadors for the country across industries and global markets.
Delivering the keynote address, Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, stressed the diaspora’s critical contributions to national development through skills transfer, investments, and global exposure.
Group Managing Director of Financial Derivatives Limited, Mr. Bismarck Rewane, provided an analysis of Nigeria’s macroeconomic outlook, while Mr. Chijioke Uwaegbute of PwC explained the implications of the new tax policy for Nigerians living abroad.
The summit also explored practical investment strategies in Nigeria. Prof. Ndubuisi Ekekwe, Chairman of Tekedia Capital, highlighted the need for informed participation supported by credible partners, while tech entrepreneur Mr. Ike Eze discussed funding trends, exit strategies, and the technology investment landscape.
The two-hour session concluded with a panel discussion moderated by Arise TV business news anchor, Mr. Rotus Oddiri.
In closing, Fidelity Bank’s Executive Director, Mr. Stanley Amuchie, encouraged diaspora customers to leverage the bank’s cross-border banking solutions, including multi-currency diaspora accounts, secure authentication, and dedicated support.
