The Ogun State Police Command has made a breakthrough in curbing cult-related activities with the arrest of a suspected Aiye confraternity member in Igbesa.
The 24-year-old suspect, Sulaiman Laja, known for terrorizing the area, was apprehended by operatives from the Igbesa Division. A search of his hideout yielded a serviceable single-barrel gun, believed to have been used in criminal activities.
Laja confessed to being an active cult member and provided information on other gang members, prompting a manhunt for their swift capture.
Both the suspect and the recovered firearm have been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID for further investigation and prosecution.
The Ogun State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating criminal elements and restoring peace across communities.
