NSCDC Rescues Corps Member Who Fled into Forest After Polling Unit Violence in Osun

Personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC have rescued a 24-year-old corps member, Abigail Peh, who went missing after violence erupted at Ward 9, Unit 006 in Ajagba, Olaoluwa Local Government Area of Osun State.

Peh, a female corps member from Delta State serving as APO II at the polling unit, reportedly ran into a thick forest following the outbreak of violence at the polling location.

She was rescued after about two hours of search and rescue operations conducted by NSCDC officers and men in collaboration with community leaders in Elewudu, Ajagba, Olaoluwa LGA.

At the time she was found, Peh had changed into another dress amid panic and fear of a possible attack by suspected miscreants.

She was also found with her luggage, which she had brought directly from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC Registration Area Centre, RAC to Unit 006 where she was deployed on Saturday, August 15, 2026.

Peh was subsequently handed over to the SPO of Ward 9, Mrs Ige Oluwabusayo.
