The Lagos State Waterways Authority, LASWA, has announced the reopening of the Ikorodu Ferry Terminal for passenger ferry operations with effect from Monday, January 19, 2026.
The terminal was closed on October 20, 2025, following navigational challenges caused by water hyacinth infestation, which necessitated the diversion of ferry services to Ibeshe Terminal and Offin Jetty.
LASWA said following the successful clearance of the waterway, completion of safety assessments, and consultations with the National Inland Waterways Authority, NIWA, the terminal has now been certified safe and cleared for full operations.
It added that all ferry operators are directed to resume normal services in line with their approved schedules and strictly adhere to all safety and operational guidelines.
