Vice Chancellor of the Lagos State University, LASU, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, and some senior members of staff have represented the university at the WACREN 2024 held in Abuja.

WACREN is a platform for African research and education institutions and their communities to discuss how to evolve and adapt to the ongoing changes in the technological space.

WACREN 2024 Conference with the theme: ”Charting The Course: Forging Future-Ready Higher Education and Research Communities”, provided an opportunity for officials of LASU to network with local and foreign counterparts to attract numerous benefits to the university.

According to the Director, of DICT, Prof. Toyin Enikuomehin, who was also at the conference, hosted by the Nigerian Research and Education Network, NgREN, one of the benefits of the engagement was the selection of Lagos State University for immediate deployment of cloud solutions.

With this selection, staff and students will begin to enjoy the Nigerian Research and Education Network, ngREN initiated eduroam, which will enhance research and teaching in the institution.
