LASU Moves Large Classes Online to Enhance Learning Efficiency

In a strategic move to optimize teaching and learning, the management of Lagos State University, LASU has announced the immediate commencement of virtual lectures for all courses with enrolment exceeding 400 students.

The directive, issued by the University Management, is aimed at addressing the challenge of limited lecture room capacity while aligning with LASU’s ongoing digitalisation drive, which promotes technology-driven education.

According to the statement, lecturers handling large-capacity courses are required to organize their lectures, tutorials, and assessments through the University’s approved virtual learning platforms to ensure seamless academic delivery.

Students affected by the new policy are also expected to comply fully, participating actively in online sessions and adhering to all guidelines governing virtual learning.

Deans of Faculties and Schools have been mandated to oversee strict enforcement of the directive and provide necessary coordination and supervision to guarantee its effective implementation.

The University Management expressed appreciation to staff and students for their cooperation and understanding, emphasizing that the initiative reflects LASU’s commitment to academic excellence, inclusiveness, and global competitiveness.

“This step underscores our vision of positioning Lagos State University as a leading institution of higher learning in West Africa,” the statement concluded.
