LASU LAUNCHES QUALITY AMBASSADORS PROGRAMME TO DRIVE QUALITY CONSCIOUSNESS ON CAMPUS

In a bid to drive quality consciousness among members of staff and students of the Lagos State University, LASU, the Directorate of Quality Assurance has launched the ‘Quality Ambassadors.

These Ambassadors are a group of people committed to propagating quality in the University.

The programme was unveiled on Friday, 26th July 2024, when the Director, Directorate of Quality Assurance, led members of the Directorate to meet members of the university management at the Vice Chancellor’s Conference Room on the 6th floor of the Senate Building.

Prof. Okunneye, while introducing the initiative to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM said ‘Members of the university community have been embracing our activities so far, but we felt that we should take it a step forward by making sure people imbibe the culture of quality in their daily activities. We want a university where people will not need to be coarsed into doing things with quality.’

Furthermore, ‘We want to propagate the ideal of quality in the university and that is why we are introducing the Quality Ambassadors, starting with members of the management’, he said, before presenting branded t-shirts with the inscription ‘Quality starts with you and me’ to members of management present.

The Vice Chancellor, who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Adenike Boyo, in her response, lauded the Directorate for the initiative. She said, ‘I thank you for this initiative. This is a good idea that will promote quality in our university, and the t-shirt will make you stand out when you are discharging your assignments.’

The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic,  Prof. Olufunsho Omobitan, the University Librarian, Dr Omawunmi Makinde, and the Deputy Registrar, Vice Chancellor’s Office, Dr Lateef Sekoni, were other functionaries of the university present at the meeting.

Prof. Olanrewaju Ajiboye, Prof. Bukola Atolagbe, Prof. Simeon Dosunmu, Prof. Henry Hunjo, Mrs Zaynab Ashiru-Mobolaji, and Mr Agunbaide completed the delegation from the Directorate of Quality Assurance.
