FANTI CARNIVAL

The Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture is set to host the highly anticipated Lagos Fanti Carnival on Sunday, April 20, 2025, bringing a vibrant celebration of Afro-Brazilian heritage to the heart of the city.

Blacktalker reports that the colorful cultural event will take place at the Remembrance Arcade, Old Defence Road, Lagos Island, starting at noon.

Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Toke Benson-Awoyinka explained that the Fanti Carnival is a tribute to the enduring Afro-Brazilian legacy in Lagos, showcasing rich traditions through dazzling costumes, music, dance, and street parades.

Benson-Awoyinka noted that the event promises to be a spectacle of rhythm and culture, drawing both locals and international visitors.
