JMG Limited has strengthened healthcare delivery in Lagos State by commissioning a solar-powered energy system at the Ketu Primary Healthcare Centre, ensuring uninterrupted power for critical medical services.
The initiative addresses the frequent power outages that can jeopardize life-saving procedures, including emergency C-sections and patients on life support.
The newly installed system, featuring a 10-kilowatt hybrid inverter, 18 N-Type solar panels, and a 20.48 KWH lithium battery, guarantees a reliable supply of clean energy for emergency operations, maternity care, immunisation storage, and laboratory diagnostics.
Speaking at the event, JMG Group General Manager, Rabi Jammal, said, “Healthcare reflects our belief that reliable power is a right, not a privilege. Energy access is essential to life, to healthcare, and to human progress. This project reaffirms JMG’s commitment to a cleaner, greener, and sustainable future.”
The commissioning was attended by representatives from the Lagos State Commissioners for Environment and Health, traditional leaders, and JMG management. Otunba Francis Meshioye, President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) and Executive Director of JMG, emphasized that investing in community healthcare is a key part of the company’s CSR strategy, following a similar donation to Bariga Primary Healthcare Centre in 2024.
Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Health District 2, Dr. Dayo Lajide, urged other organisations to emulate JMG’s example, noting its alignment with the government’s plan for quality healthcare delivery.
Dr. Hassan Sanuth, Director of Sanitation Services, Lagos State Ministry of Environment, highlighted the environmental benefits of relying on renewable energy.
Medical Director of Ketu Primary Healthcare Centre, Dr. Mariam Oshodi, and Executive Chairman of Agboyi Ketu Local Council Development Area, Hon. Adetola Abubakar, lauded the donation, stressing its immediate impact on service reliability and patient care.
